Welcome again to reintroduce Ninkear M7 - one of the fabulous powerful device among many other from Ninkear brand. We have repeatedly emphasized that modern mini PCs can well replace large system units when it comes to basic tasks. Ninkear M7 is just one of those options.

The mini PC format is still underestimated. It is difficult for ordinary users to imagine that a small box can be not inferior in performance to the basic configurations of ordinary PCs. Of course, mini PCs have many limitations, caused primarily by the lack of space for the cooling system. But the Ninkear M7 found a way out: they decided to dissipate some of the heat through a metal case. It turned out very well.

Design and device

All mini-PCs look about the same: small "cubes" with a scattering of interfaces and slots for ventilation of the filling. The Ninkear M7 is made in the same vein, and the body here is metal (which you don't expect from an inexpensive device). The deflectors are on the sides, and the connectors are on the front and rear.

On the front panel we see two USB-A releases 3.2, as well as a power button. It would be nice to have a headphone jack here as well, but we decided to place it along with the rest of the interfaces on the back side.

On the back, the mini PC has two more fast USB-A, one USB-C, an RJ-45 network PC, a pair of HDMI for connecting monitors, and the same audio jack. Plus a connector for a power supply.

Looking ahead, the device also has wireless modules - Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 ax), Bluetooth 5.2. That is, in terms of communication capabilities, they are not only not inferior, but also better than many laptops.

To access the filling, you need to unscrew the four screws of the lid. It also has two threaded holes — they'll come in handy if you want to screw the mini PC to the monitor case via a VESA mount (a bracket for mounting is included).

In other Ninkear devices, we often noted good upgrade opportunities. The M7 is no exception: here you can add both RAM and permanent memory. The RAM is represented by a single stick of 16 GB. This can be good if you plan to buy the second one and increase the volume to 32 GB. On the other hand, a mini PC is clearly not designed for gaming and heavy software, so 32GB will be too much for its typical tasks. But if the manufacturer had immediately put two 8 GB bars, the memory would have worked out of the box in dual-channel mode.

The storage here is 512 GB, in M.2 NMVe 2280 format. This is unlikely to seem enough, but if anything, you can add another one. However, due to the compact case, you will have to look for a version of the 2242 format. Important point: Ninkear does not prohibit upgrading on your own. That is, adding a bar or installing an additional SSD will not cause a refusal in warranty repairs, if required.

Performance

The mini PC is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor (6 cores and 12 threads) with a base frequency of 2.3 GHz, and 4.3 GHz in overclocking mode. The chip is not the most recent, it appeared in 2023, and even then it is an upgrade of the already well-known 5600U. Especially when combined with 16GB of RAM.

The result of testing in benchmarks is quite predictable: good opportunities for surfing, using editors and other similar programs, but more complex tasks are available very conditionally.

The built-in graphics of Radeon RX Vega 7 are capable of pulling undemanding games like GS:GO on minimum or medium settings.

The Ninkear M7 proved to be quiet in operation, which is not surprising at a TDP of 15W. As we have already noted, the metal case here also plays the role of a radiator. If you look under the cover, you can see a thermal pad on the SSD, due to which the heat during the operation of the drive is just transferred to the metal of the case. When fully loaded, it heats up noticeably, up to 50 degrees, but there is nothing critical about this. Not a bug, but a feature.

The device is sold with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed, which is logical. You can start using it immediately after unpacking and configuring, which does not take much time. When working with browsers and office editors, there are no problems: even a large number of open tabs and programs does not lead to the appearance of "slowdowns", as is often the case on models with processors like Intel N100.

Conclusion

Nowadays, "$-Budget" for a mini PC with a good processor and no compromises on memory is very budget-friendly. So we didn't expect any revelations from the Ninkear M7. In general, it's quite a decent computer for its price: it easily turns over the main office tasks, spins videos in FHD, while not making much noise and has a good assortment of interfaces. A metal case and elementary access to the internals for the update are additional bonuses.

Of the things that could be improved, perhaps make the memory two-channel and place the audio jack on the front panel. The comments are not critical: I can't say that there are noticeable freezes in the single-channel mode, and many headphones use wireless ones (especially since Bluetooth is already available). So we give the Ninkear M7 a five with a barely noticeable minus.
